387 MWs under major wind energy project developed by RF Energy in Evia, Greece
RF Energy, is planning development of a major wind energy project in South Evia, Greece, an area of exceptionally high energy potential. At least 250 local residents and land owners have partnered with RF in the development of the project.
All necessary applications have already been filed to the competent authorities (RAE, Ministry of Development).

The project developed by RF Energy and its subsidiaries, is located in South Evia, Greece. It consists of 11 wind farms, forming an integrated cluster of wind farms with a total capacity of 387 MW. It is considered a major wind energy project compared to Greek standards, marked by a mixture of groundbreaking technology and innovative features, such as:
• Cutting edge Wind Turbine Generators (WTG) of at least 3 MW each
• Obtaining full rights of use of the land where the project is being developed in collaboration with the land owners
• Underground network for the interconnection of the WTGs with the substations and the transmission of electric power
• Submarine power grid for the transmission of electric power, implementing DC technology that is currently being used only in the interconnection line between Greece and Italy
What’s more, RF Energy, being fully aware of its responsibilities towards the local communities as well as the environment, has procured that:
• The maximum requirements stipulated by Law are met, with regard to minimum distances kept from residential, rural, and forest areas,
• Long lease agreements with local land-owners secured,
• Improvements are made in the existing road network and further infrastructure is developed (at least 200km of roads etc),
• Environmental protection side projects take place (afforestation works, works for the prevention of soil erosion, etc)
The local communities where the project is being developed are kept properly informed and the residents acknowledge a series of substantial benefits, long-term and short-term, arising from materialization of the investment:
• Total investment exceeds Euro six hundred million (€600 mln) in CAPEX,
• Employment opportunities for more than 200 blue-collar workers and engineers for the next 2-3 years,
• Approximately 30 jobs created for engineers and technical staff after completion of the project,
• At least 200km of road network to be built and turned over for public use,
• Steady annual income (in the form of municipality duty) for the municipalities where the project is being developed for a twenty-year period, amounting to more than €3 million,
• More than €2 million of steady income benefiting land-owners for a twenty-year period
• Approximately €1.5 million of steady income for the land-owners during the construction period.
Local communities where the project is being developed therefore approve and actively support RF Energy’s venture. Moreover, at least 250 residents are involved in the project by subletting their land to RF Energy. We, on our part, also see to it that we properly inform, and jointly work with local authorities, land-owners and local residents.
Factoring in all merits of the project (overall contribution to further expansion of renewable energy, securing the interests of local land-owners, substantial benefits for the environment and local communities), as well as RF Energy’s capacity and financial standing, expect to be able to complete our project in a smooth and uninterrupted manner.
